About the Role:

The Medical Receptionist Call Center 1 plays a critical role in ensuring smooth communication between patients and healthcare providers within a busy call center environment. This position is responsible for managing inbound calls, scheduling appointments, and providing accurate information regarding medical services and policies. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. The Medical Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for patients, helping to create a positive experience and facilitating efficient healthcare delivery. Ultimately, this position supports the operational effectiveness of healthcare facilities by coordinating patient interactions and administrative tasks with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Answer and manage a high volume of inbound calls from patients and healthcare providers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems and call center software.
• Provide patients with accurate information regarding appointment preparation, clinic hours, and healthcare services offered.
• Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure proper documentation and billing processes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, updating patient records, and coordinating with medical staff as needed.
• Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and escalate issues to appropriate personnel when necessary.

The required skills enable the Medical Receptionist to efficiently manage patient interactions and administrative duties, ensuring accurate scheduling and information dissemination. Strong communication skills are essential for handling diverse patient inquiries and providing clear, empathetic responses. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or call center role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant.
• Experience working in a healthcare call center environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
• Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the United States.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and call center technology.
